Ricoh launches light production printers
RICOH launched its rst colour digital
printers in the light production space, with
the Pro C5110S and Ricoh Pro C5100S.
Mark Burgess, national manager of
the Production Printing division Ricoh
New Zealand, sees the light production
models as a versatile choice for central
reprographics departments seeking high
quality in-house print capability or digital
and quick printers. They reach output
speeds up to 80ppm (Ricoh Pro C5110S)
and 65ppm (Ricoh Pro C5100S), which
Burgess says makes them ideal for the
production of on demand prestigious
marketing material, collateral or client
mailings. Both models also feature a
new toner formulation and broad media
handling along with small footprints.
Burgess says, "The new additions join
the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts +, Pro C751
and Pro C651 digital colour production
systems, providing Ricoh New Zealand with
a complete line up in all major segments of
the cut sheet digital print market, The new
series will t perfectly into the high quality
demands of the light production segment
and will set the new standard for quality,
reliability and value for money."
Ricoh says that with its newly
developed toner formulation, it has
increased its colour gamut by 10 per
cent for the Pro C5110S and Pro C5100S.
Developed to fuse at a lower temperature,
the toner meets Ricoh's R&D focus to
continually reduce the environmental
impacts of its products wherever possible.

Ferrostaal sells Morgana and MGI digital

The Morgana range of nishing
equipment for digital printers was
one of the most popular areas at the show, Ferrostaal was highlighting
the new Morgana 450 DigiBook PUR binder, which can equally be used
by digital and litho printers.
The 450 books an hour system will take books with spine thicknesses
between 2-50mm, and is equipped with a patented closed gluing
system where the spine and side gluing is applied by a slot applicator for
quality and accuracy.
Ferrostaal said its Komori business continues to move forward,
pointing to recent orders from two Aussie companies for an eight-colour
HUV B1 perfector and a B2 version. It sold an HUB+V to Centurion Print
in Auckland last year. Ferrostaal says the HUV series has makeready
down to just 20 sheets, a fraction of the usual number adding that if you
multiply this by the number of jobs in a day and the number of days in a
year that represents a hefty saving.

centre of attention.
managing director of
Ideal Solutions, said, "The
Flexcel NX delivers the
highest plate resolution of
any exo platemaker. This
has enabled many of our
customers to switch from six, seven or eight colour
printing down to just the four process colours, with
commensurate time and money savings."
According to Molnar, exo printers and trade
houses using the Flexcel don't need to print a second
black, or a second white because the resolution is so
high. He said, "This is causing major interest in the
exo community, as it impacts on so many costs."
Ideal is currently Kodak's only channel to market
in the packaging sector.
